COOKBOOK CHALLENGE

Wednesday, 12 February 2014
As my cookbook collection continues to grow, I find that I acknowledge them less and less. I appreciate their colourful covers and have a flick through over a cup of tea every now and then, but when it comes to cooking, I usually make my own recipes up as I go along or find a recipe on the internet when I'm finishing up at work. This year, my goal is to cook a new recipe (following it to the letter) at least once a month, cooking one from each book before I continue adding to my collection. I can't wait to discover some new dishes that will hopefully make their way into my regular rotation.

  1. yay! I love new to me recipes. I have been trying to do more recipes versus just throwing stuff together- it makes the world of difference.

  2. That's such a great goal!
I love cooking but always feel too rushed to try to cook something new. I just might have to borrow your cooking goal for myself!

    1. I know, right? So much easier to cook the same old things. I'll be posting up the recipes so you can follow along!

  3. I'm just like you! I love having cookbooks in my kitchen, but they're almost more like decoration than functional. I need to make more of an effort. And I never have the discipline to follow recipes. I always add something which I think might "improve" it... I'm too creative for my own good sometimes! X Jane http://janeheinrichs.blogspot.com

    1. I agree! And when I see a really long ingredient list, I like to make some omissions!

  4. This is such a great idea! I tend to go through phases where I use them all the time, and then they sit forgotten in the kitchen. I'm currently most definitely in the former, my collection needs some love I think. Looking forward to following along!
